Radio Icom IC-V80 VHF dibuat dengan penambahan rangkaian produk yang menawarkan konstruksi militer yang kokoh, tahan air, dan perlindungan superior terhadap elemen standar MIL-STD-810 dan IP54. IC-V80 juga bagus untuk lingkungan yang bising, menggunakan amplifier BTL (bridge-terikat beban) yang menggandakan output audio. Bersama dengan speaker besar, IC-V80 menghasilkan 750mW audio yang keras dan jelas sehingga ideal untuk pengoperasian dasar saat bepergian.
